Timeshares
Be careful - some companies use dubious tactics to sell timeshare or membership of holiday clubs. For example, you may be offered a prize or a gift to persuade you to attend a presentation where you will be under a lot of pressure to sign on the spot. Unless you are seriously considering buying from the company concerned, do not go.
If you sign a timeshare contract in the UK, you have a cooling-off period of 14 days in which you can cancel the contract (and any related credit agreement) at no cost and be refunded any money you have paid. The seller must not seek or accept any money from you during the cooling off period.
In many other countries, the cooling-off period is 10 days. If you are unsure of your position, don't sign: wait until you get home and seek legal advice.
Holiday clubs are very similar to timeshare products but you should be aware that you may not get the same protection as that provided for timeshare.

If you buy timeshare or membership of a holiday club and find you have not got what you paid for, you may still be able to get your money back, provided you paid on credit. However, this does not apply if you just change your mind.
